BUILDING A MINDFUL EATING PROGRAM
Mindfulness can support well-being in many ways—from significantly reducing stress to promoting positive psychological outcomes. But how does it relate to eating habits, especially in older adults?
Nourish to Flourish is a mindful eating program designed to help older adults build healthier, more intentional eating behaviors. This Orange Paper outlines the program, then provides findings from a pilot study on the program’s impact, along with tips and a step-by-step guide for those interested in implementing their own mindful eating program.
When you fill out this form, you will receive the full Orange Paper Report, a Facilitator Guide, and Participant Workbook. The guide and workbook can also be downloaded separately.
IN THE REPORT:
- Part 1: Lead a Mindful Eating Program: This report begins with a step-by-step description of an interactive program called Nourish to Flourish, and provides guidance on how to implement and replicate this program with older adults.
- Part 2: Learn about the Mindful Eating Study: The second part of this report details findings from a pilot study of the Nourish to Flourish program. Researchers from Mather Institute offer insights into what participants found valuable in the program and provide recommendations.
- Part 3 and 4: The report includes a Participant Workbook and Facilitator Guide to help you create your own mindful eating program. These guides are available at no cost and license-free.
